Eligibility Criteria

We offer three categories: “Nurture,” “Flourish,” and “Evolve.” Participants should be physically and mentally prepared to enroll in any of our programs. We strongly recommend that registered participants engage in a sport or running for 30 to 45 minutes, at least 2 weeks before the start of their program. This will help them better prepare for the recreational activities during the program.

A Typical Day on the Program

Generally, the day starts at 7 am. Recreational activities take place in the first half of the day. After lunch, participants engage in evening activities based on culture, heritage, and life skills development, followed by evening games and other fun activities. Bedtime is at 9 pm so that participants can wake up fresh the next day.

Weather

The weather conditions vary across different locations in India, depending on the time of year. Sometimes, the weather can be unpredictable, and rain showers may be expected. Our program-related kit list is specific to each location and designed to keep children comfortable in varied weather conditions.

Accommodation

Each location offers different accommodation facilities. Some locations have tents or cottages. These locations have western-style toilets, 24×7 running water, and hot water availability based on the location and weather conditions. We have dedicated and separate areas for boys and girls to stay and sleep comfortably. We highly recommend that participants make new friends and stay with them in their allocated shelter.

Food Facility

We usually serve a variety of hot buffet meals. Around 7 meals are served during the program, starting from the morning wake-up time and ending with dinner. We also serve local dishes to provide participants with a taste of different regional flavors of India. If your child has any food allergies, please let us know in advance to ensure a more enjoyable dining experience.

Drinking Water Facility

We ensure that every participant drinks an adequate amount of water to boost their metabolism, immune system, and energy levels. Each location has a proper Reverse Osmosis filtration system, and we also provide mineral water bottles.

Activities

We offer four important elements involving different recreational activities such as rock climbing, low and high ropes courses, backpacking, mountain biking, scuba diving, rafting, etc. Other activities include pottery making, kite flying, mangrove exploration, waste management, community services, cooking, gardening, etc.

Medical Provision

Our instructors are trained as first aiders to handle emergencies in the wilderness. A doctor is available on the program (not on expedition) to assess immediate medical conditions. An emergency vehicle is always available at the location.

Program Team

A psychologist’s work often involves experimentation, observation, and interpretation of how individuals relate to each other and their environments. They observe and understand a child’s psyche, which helps parents learn more about their child. When a child is away from their parents for the programs, a psychologist will observe and work on their OODA (Observe, Orient, Decide, Act) report.

Our instructors are experts in outdoor education and facilitating recreational activities. We have a mixed number of male and female instructors available on the program. They are certified by internationally recognized outdoor institutes. We maintain a ratio of 1 adult to 5 participants. Adult supervisors ensure the program is safe and fun.

Instructors’ Safety Checks

Our most experienced instructors are qualified to take care of gender sensitivity, physical, and emotional safety of participants. They have successfully completed our selection process and undergone training workshops from renowned outdoor organizations.

Safety Precautions on the Program

Each location has confined boundaries that restrict wildlife and outsiders. The rich local flora and fauna help participants gain knowledge. These locations have electricity supply and power backup facilities to keep participants comfortable, especially at night. Participants are always under adult supervision during the program. Our locations are usually away from urban areas to connect participants with nature and their roots. Bugs are commonly found in the wilderness.

Safety Precautions on expeditions

The instructors leading the treks are Wilderness First Aid Certified. They are well trained and certified to handle different types of emergencies. The camping spots are scouted to ensure they are suitable for overnight camping. The base camp also has details of the trekking route and the nearest road head for assistance if needed.

Mode of Communication

We do not allow electronic gadgets on the programs. During the program, we make a WhatsApp group for parents. You will receive two updates per day, informing you about the program activities. Group photos will be shared daily and by 7 pm. Please note that in wilderness areas, poor network connectivity may delay photo sharing.
